Inter-generational trauma. The immigrant experience. A howling wilderness of desert outside city borders. Fingers reach up through the past, touching three generations of women. Violence destroys intimacy, creates madness, turns love into hatred and hatred back into love.

How far are you willing to go to further a cause you passionately believe in when your child’s well-being is at stake? Pasadena, California in the 1970’s was a template for what happens when fear of the Outsider is used for political gains. Sic Transit
Sic Transit
\Short play
Have you ever wondered why the good die young, while the truly annoying seem to live on forever? Have you ever hoped that living a virtuous life will better your odds of being happy and long-lived? Have you ever considered how these fates are actually decided? Sic Transit deals with such delicious and unanswerable questions as a young man deals with the bureaucracy of his imminent demise.

Aphrodite in Jeans: Adventure tales about Men, Midlife, and Motherhood (Essays)
From Goodreads: In Aphrodite in Jeans, Katherine Shirek Doughtie explores what happens when a woman stalemated in the middle of life dares to answer a call to live more fully. Whether discussing motherhood, working through relationships or taking care of an aging parent, these essays are in turn funny, poignant and challenging. With wicked insight and unflinchÂing courage, Ms. Doughtie ruthlessly examines her experiences as she dares to tackle life head on.
